Team India’s Top 3 Revealed for Asia Cup, will leave fans divided

 Asia Cup: After commencing the England Tour in the leadership of newly hired test captain Shubman Gill, Team India's next assignment will be the Asia Cup. According to some media reports, the selection committee will select the indian team squad on 19 or 20 August, which depends upon when COE (Centre of Excellence) sends the fitness reports of players, including T20I team captain Suryakumar Yadav, who recently operated for their sports hernia injury.

According to some reports, the selection committee, which will select Team India's squad for the Asia Cup, has finalised the names of the top 3 players in the Indian team's batting order, after which it is believed that their decision may divide Indian cricket fans.

Who will open the innings for Team India in the Asia Cup

Team India played its last T20I series against England at the beginning of this year, where explosive batter Abhishek Sharma and wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson were given the role of openers. 

But now, when the news is that Team India's Test captain Shubman Gill is going to make a comeback in this format for Team India once again after the T20I series played on Sri Lanka tour last year, it is believed that now in the Asia Cup, two childhood friends Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill will be seen opening the innings for Team India. The selection committee can select Sanju Samson as a finisher and wicketkeeper batsman in the team.

Who will play at number 3 in the Asia Cup

In the last T20I series against England, Tilak Varma was seen playing at number 3 for the Indian team, but if reports are to be believed, then during the Asia Cup, captain Suryakumar Yadav's name is also in the race to bowl at number 3. This is because the team management wants to make a left-right combination in the pure batting order. 

In such a case, if Shubman Gill gets out as the first wicket for Team India, then Suryakumar Yadav will go on to bat at number 3, whereas if Abhishek Sharma gets out first, then Tilak Verma will be seen playing at number 3 in that match.

Why can the top 3 selections in the Asia Cup divide Indian fans?

If it seems, till now the Indian team for Asia Cup has not been officially selected, but if the reports coming from PTI turn out to be true then the opinion of Indian fans can be quite divided, this is because some fans are quite impressed with the performance of Sanju Samson after becoming an opener and they want to see him playing as an opener in Asia Cup but on the other hand some fans are eagerly waiting for the comeback of Shubman Gill in T20I format.
